LONE PINE'S IN THE BLIND
"ODIN"
OFFERED FOR STUD

We have our first stud dog!  And he truly is the bestest boy!  There is so much to say about Odin it's hard to know where to begin.  As a pup he was the most laid-back guy, content to sniff the flowers and take lots of naps in the grass.  When it came time to pick a pup, we enlisted the help of our trusted veterinarian and she helped us select both Odin and his sister Ember, not only for their demeanor at 8 weeks old but also their confirmation and confidence.  As a 6 month old pup with very little formal training, on his first pheasant trip to Iowa, Odin learned quickly and produced several birds.  In one particular instance, he had a rooster pinned but Mike wasn't yet confident in the little guy.  Another great lesson in "trust your dog" ensued.  Unfortunately the bird got away, but we knew there was something special about this pup.

If Odin had a motto, it would be there every day is a new day and it's going to be the greatest day ever.  This dog VIBRATES with exuberant energy in the mornings and makes me smile on event the toughest days.  His temperament is second to none.  He has been barked at, pawed, postured against and a number of other behavioral situations with both male and female dogs and naturally handles himself with maturity and grace.  He knows when to walk away and when to stand his ground.  It's one of my favorite qualities about him.  He is always ready to work and cooperative in training.

His confirmation is beautiful and his structure fits the breed standard almost perfectly.  His head is broad with a pronounced stop and a balanced muzzle.  His eyes are soft and expressive.  His topline is straight and strong, thought slightly long.  He has a broad deep chest and is bigger boned and stockier.  He stands 25 inches at the shoulder and weighs a muscular 72 pounds.  His coat is tight and coarse with good coverage on his chest and belly.

In the field he runs BIG!  His points are staunch and intense and he loves to retrieve.  We recently put on 11 miles in one day on a chukar hunt and he maintained his endurance through the whole hike.  He picks things up quickly and loves to hunt.  This season he will get his first duck hunting experience and we're confident he'll do well.  He enters the water with enthusiasm and swims hard.

Odin also comes from excellent stock.  His sire, VC Ripsnorter's Slate is a 2 time UT Prize 1 stud who became a Versatile Champion at the invitational in 2023 and is one of the 2 dogs that earned Ripsnorter Kennel the first ever Pudelpointer Invitational Breeder's Award.  Slate's is out of, Audax Agnar Vom Oberland (UT Prize 1), and Dam, Ripsnorter's Hallelujah, aka "Glory" (NA 112 Prize 1), Ripsnorter Kennel's top producing dam with 3 NA, 1 UT and 1 IT Breeder's Awards.

Audax's progeny scores for NA average 105.6.  The average for UT is 186.3.  Glory's progeny scores for NA average 107.5.  The average for UT is 197.3.  Clearly, Slate comes from top producing parents.

Odin's Dam, Evony's progeny scores for NA have averaged 105.1.  She has strong water drive and is a big runner in the field.

He earned is Utility Prize 1 this past summer and will be heading to the Invitational in New Mexico in 2026.

We are so excited to add Odin to the Lone Pine kennel and see what he produces.
